Junipero Serra School Consultative Board

The JSS Consultative Board usually meets once a month on the first Wednesday of the month. Meetings start at 5:30 P.M. The schedule is published on the JSS website.

The JSS Consultative Board welcomes parent and Parishioners at our meetings. Parents and members of the Parish are invited to address the Board during Open Forum. If you would like to speak during the Open Forum, please email the Principal one week prior to the meeting. Inform the Principal of the purpose or point of your comments. Please remember that the Board’s responsibility is to ensure and secure the long-term viability and vitality of the school. It is the principal and school staff’s responsibility to manage the day-to-day operations of the school to provide quality Catholic education for all students in all grades. Therefore, comments related to the following topics are not appropriate for Open Forum and instead should be directed to the Principal.

  • Personnel hiring or firing
  • Other personnel matters including salaries or employee conduct
  • Administration/day to day operations of the school
  • Academic affairs
  • Implementation of policies and procedures

Open Forum remarks are limited to 3 minutes per person. For more information about the Consultative Board, please contact the school principal.

Board Meetings are typically structured in the following way:

  1. Call to Order and Opening Prayer
  2. Board Administrative Matters
    1. Approval of the minutes
    2. Review of scheduled meetings and adjustment as necessary
  3. Reports:
    1. Pastor’s Report
    2. Principal’s Report
    3. Operation Manager Report
    4. Parent Association Report
  4. Open Forum
    1. Parents and community members address the Board
    2. 3 minute time limit per person
  5. Other Business (events, initiatives, etc.)
  6. Executive Session
